Recently saw advertise about tikona broadband. They are providing broadband over wi-fi. Any feedback about their service?

  • Average guaranteed speed (between 0800 hrs and 2000 hrs)
  • Average uptime in 1 week
  • Do they provide public static IP?
  • Any restrictions? (ports block, blacklisted ip network, etc)
  • Any fair usage policy?
  • Any area specific surprises?

Used it in Delhi with 599plan(300kbps) for sometime. Good for roaming guys but no surety of complete coverage, hopefully they'll get good coverage in future

  • Average guaranteed speed (between 0800 hrs and 2000 hrs)
nothing guaranteed but it works at 80-90% of CIR
  • Average uptime in 1 week
depends on signal strength, no network downtime as such
  • Do they provide public static IP?
nope, didn't asked for one :)
  • Any restrictions? (ports block, blacklisted ip network, etc)
didn't experimented a lot but more or less very seemless
  • Any fair usage policy?
    didn't encountered any
  • Any area specific surprises?
unavailability of signal at many places

Overall review
seems to be a costly option, HSDPA data cards of CDMA (photon or broadband+) are much better mobility connectivity options.

was planning to replace wired connection with wireless. but now will wait for next few months before doing that. btw, can you use the credentials across different areas? if yes, could be good option.
