For the kebabs, check out these other threads:

For the biryanis, here's a list:

  • Blue Nile, near Poona Club Camp
  • Kareems, East Street Camp and F C Road Model Colony and Viman Nagar (check?)
  • Tareef, next to Ozone/Pulse Aundh
  • Rashid Khan Caterers, Rasta Peth (only takes multiples of 1 kg order - but amazing stuff)
  • Dorabjee, Camp (Parsi/Irani style biryani)
  • George, East Streat Camp (Parsi/Irani style biryani)
  • Nawab, next to Blue Nile, Camp
  • Hyderabadi Spice, Parihar Chowk Aundh (not family friendly, strictly for take-away)
  • Koyla (Hyderabadi House), Koregaon Park and F C Road Model Colony

Sheesha Cafe, ABC Farm Pune serves great persian Biryani -- very mildly spiced. Very unlike any others on Ankur's excellent list. Sigri (Dhole Patil Road) also has decent Biryani and Kebaabs.

I just read in the Deccan Gymkhana/Shivaji Nagar edition of "City Plus" Pune about Shahi Darbaar, a Biryani-only joint in Baner Phata. Sounds good, they do just Biryani, veg and non-veg. Haven't been there yet though.
