Fun is quite vague term. And also relative one...rephrasing the question would be useful for others to provide suggestions.

Wonderfunkey on Western bypass near Warje is a good place to spend time if you have kids. Other than that Mulshi lake is a good car drive. Also on the same road you can go to Lavasa city. It is very scenic drive. If you take right turn at Paud village, you can go to one or two resorts there.

There are some good water sports activities going on near Sinhagad fort base as well as Panshet Dam. Katraj zoo also can be a good place for kids. Off course Sinhagad fort by vehicle as well as by foot in very early morning is also a great option. You get to test local food with curd in small matkas, onion pakodas etc.

If you are interested on little longer drive, Bhimashankar is a good place to visit. Not just for the temple but also for the forest around.

There are many more places. Pune is a great place to have weekend fun. :)

You could go check out the Agha Khan Palace.. I find it to be a serene place to spend a few hours.. it's a history lesson and a park in one.. so both adults and kids will like it.

It also has ample shade under trees to sit and read, while kids can play.

If adventure and trekking interests you, you might want to join in for a trek organized by Shikhar Vedh trekking group - http://shikharvedh.org/

They organize several treks around pune, karjat, satara region. Have a look at the monsoon trekking calendar too: http://shikharvedh.org/calendar.shtml
