I have never stayed overnight at Mahabaleshwar before. Can you pls suggest good and affordable stay at Mahabaleshwar ? Resorts or hotels both welcome. Expect good value for money. |

Good experience with Summer Plaza Resort http://summerplazaresort.com at Panchgani. Mahabaleshwar is at a driveable distance. You can find the tariff on the website and decide whether you like it. This is what we liked. Your experience may vary according to your expectations:
You can walk up to the Table Land that is a few hundred meters away. The following is a recommendation I got from a friend and that I share:"If you have small kid(s), and do not wish to move around hunting for food, then this is the place. If you are newly married, and wish to spend quiet time together, then this is the place." Directions: * go straight to shivaji chowk in panchgani (basically the only big chowk in the midst of panchgani, which you pass) * take a left at this chowk, the road climbs uphill. * once you reach the end, ask, and ye shall be guided! |

I had seen advts. that Solaris Pune has guesthouses at several places including Panchgani. Their guesthouses can be booked by both members and non-members (who have to pay a bit higher). The rates (at that time) had seemed reasonable. Check in the following URL and enquire: http://www.solaris.in/solarisGuesthouse.html# Also check on Nivalink (probably the most popular for Pune/Mumbai weekend getaway bookings) here: |

I went there this week and stayed 2 days at MTDC resort. The rooms were OK, but the location of resort was quite good. 2kms from market and surrounded by jungle...The rate was 800 per night. I recommend if you are OK with less fancy rooms and nice location. |

In general, Mahabaleshwar Hotels & Resorts tend to be super expensive - AND NOT A GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY! These days I prefer a day trip there. Hoping to see some good suggestions.
