I would be moving to Pune from US in the next month. I have been to Pune only once so would like to have a good GPS system once i am in Pune. What would be a good make/model for Pune and other cities in India. Any previous experience would be appreciated.

Is it worth getting any US models with India maps, has anyone tried this with like Garmin/TomTom etc...

Thanks in Advance Arun

As far as I know, only MapMyIndia and SatNav have GPS Navigation Devices and Maps for India. Nokia also supports maps with their GPS enabled phones for India.

I have been using a MapMyIndia GPS Navigation Portable Device in my car for past 3 months. Reasonably good.

MapMyIndia also provides software (maps on a SD Card) for certain Garmin devices. Please check their website for supported Garmin Models/Pricing/etc.

Nowadays GPS is readily available in phone. E.g. Nokia E71, E72, 5800(?), few blackberry models. Install google maps for mobile on it and its quite usable.
