I am an NRI moving to Pune early 2010. I would be commuting to Ranjangaon for my plant daily, what would be a good and safe area to live in to reduce commute. I like to live close to Pune so that I can have access to amenities quickly. Any suggestions.

You can also check out Magarpatta City or flats (namely Mundhwa - Hadapsar Bypass) near Magarpatta City in addition to what Amit has mentioned. This is about 3 kms (max) from Kharadi. While this will slightly increase your commute, you will have quick access to amenities.

Locality Wise

Kalyani Nagar - Best
Viman Nagar, Magarpatta
Kharadi

Cost of Living Wise

Kalyani Nagar - Most expensive
Viman Nagar, Magarpatta
Kharadi

Access to amenities

Kalyani Nagar
Magarpatta
Viman Nagar
Kharadi - Least access

Your commute wise

Viman Nagar
Magarpatta, Kalyani Nagar

Are there any good schools for kindergarden kids in Viman Nagar / Magarpatta

(08 Dec '09, 06:52) Arun Thandapani

I dont have kids so personally dont have any idea about schools. But I did ask couple of my neighbors. The following are the list of schools which are considered to be good and near the given localities.

Bishops - Missionary Style. Considered to be the best. Magarpatta Public School - Most of the KG kids go to this school i.e. if you are staying near Magarpatta. Symbiosis International - Considered to be truly expensive.

From the point of view of commuting to Ranjangaon - Kharadi/Wagholi, Vimannagar and Kalyaninagar are your closest options. Kalyaninagar is the best amongst the 3, but also the farthest and most expensive. Kharadi/Wagholi is closest, but least attractive. Maybe Vimannagar (which is halfway between the two, but more developed than Kharadi) would be a good compromise.

You should check out all three locations.

I would say Kalyani Nagar/Viman Nagar would be good, since, from your other questions, it is also clear that you want good internet connectivity. Going too far out of Pune will reduce your chances of getting good broadband.
