I currently live at Dahanukar Colony, Karve Rd, Kothrud.

I am looking to install a phone + broadband combo at home. Can someone please rank the following landline/WLL providers in terms of connectivity, speed, customer service & tariffs?

  1. BSNL Fixed line (B-Fone?)
  2. Tata Indicom
  3. Reliance
  4. Any other - Airtel, Vodafone, etc

Also, if you could share the plan you are currently using, it would be great!

A million thanks, in advance! :)

In my opinion BSNL is the best option for broadband in terms of types of plans, speed, tariff. Also Customer Service for the Kothrud telephone exchange is good (I live in your area). I have a BSNL fixed line and BSNL BBG FN 500 Plan (speed upto 2 Mbps, 2.5 GB limit). I usually get a download speed of 1.6 Mbps. Have recently applied for changing to a combo plan. You should choose a plan as per your needs. Check : http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/dataone_tariff.htm

No data for Kothrud... but reasonably happy with Airtel fixed-line/broadband combo plan in Aundh.

Tata Indicom in Prabhat Road area - decent speed, but uptime is an issue - especially in the rainy season (outside cables issues...I think).
