  • All hospitals which have in-patient-departments (as against OPD) have 24 hour pharmacy/chemists attached
  • These chemists are also well stocked since the hospital itself has a good demand
  • This also means that the stocks will be in movement for most medicines
(so you are less likely to get near-expiry products)
  • This is one reference list
(I have not confirmed phone numbers here; but the bottom line is,
look for hospitals you trust in Pune, good ones will usually have good pharmacies).
  • One search link: AskLaila Pune 24-hour pharmacies
There will be probably a better search page somewhere else (would like to know of one)
  • There are also places like CRS and Apollo,
but I think they have a different take on the 'business',
I find most of them are biased towards 'regular' customers and cosmetics.
Keeping stocks of critical medicine is something they expect 'others' to do.

The Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital pharmacy is one of the best stocked in my opinion. 24 hrs availability is a definite plus point. Like Nik says all the big hospitals have their own pharmacies which are open 24 hours

My experience is that if a medicine is not very urgent, then my local pharmacist gets it for me, at a 5% discount. There are some special medicines which are available only in big hospitals like deenanth, ruby etc.

Don't know about the cheaper part because all I have seen is medicines sold @ MRP. However the medicine shop in Kotbagi Hospital in Aundh is a 24 hour medicine shop. Their stock of medicines is decent. Most other medicine shops in Aundh are inadequately stocked and concentrate on selling soaps & shampoos more than selling medicines. In fact there aren't any medicine shops that I can confidently say has a great stock of medicines.

Dunno much about other places. I hear that the chemists shop in Ruby Hospital is also a 24 hour medicine shop.

Religare pharmacy has a couple of branches on Baner Rd and some more in Aundh area. They give free home delivery. If you sign up for their card, you get 5% off everything too (10% for senior citizens).
