you can get an affidavit done from a notary. Ask your car dealer for exact format. Most car dealers also can help you get this done. They may charge you 200-300 bucks for this affidavit. But, that show room guy is telling like rental agrement registartion is must. Is it really required? Is there any other way? I am from Chennai. So, I donot have any voter card, light bill, phone bill, related to Pune address.

It might be required. But many sales person can get it 'done' for you. I had my rental agreement but I know one friend who migrated from UK and bought a car. For him his salesperson did all work to get documentation done.

Hi, I just booked a new i10. I am not from Pune and I live in a rented accommodation. The documents that I am asked to submit are the following: a) Copy of the rent agreement (Must be notarized. It is preferred if it is also registered) b) Affidavit which acts as an address proof. c) A letter from the HR of the company. d) Electricity Bill e) A copy of the Pan CARD. f) Two photographs. g) MAY BE - police verification of the tenant. (The salesman first insisted on it and then backed off) Most of these documents should not be a problem other than 'a' & 'b'. Most people do not have a registered rent agreement and it is not compulsory either. If you do have it registered, the getting the affidavit part becomes a little easy. |
