With frequent power cuts happening in pune, thinking of buying an inverter. Any experience with inverters (good ones, not good ones)? And any shop where we can buy good and cheap. Should we go for local or branded?

I have had a good experience with a Luminous Inverter at home. It has been functioning very well for the last more than 5 years. My experience with Megatech used for our Lift is also good. Make sure that you get Tubular Batteries. They are expensive but need much lower maintenance. Also, nowadays almost all inverters are sine wave.

Can someone specify better specifications? I mean what should be considered in home purpose use? like: battery type, companies / models, durability, sine, capacity, etc.
