I have tried some of the following restaurants for sea food - Nisargh off Karve Road, Mahesh Lunch home on way to main street, Trishna opposite Hotel Sun and Sand, Rahul at Rahul cinema hall on Univ. road, Coconut Groove near Pune station and Harsh restaurant on Paud road. Calcutta Boarding on Jangli Maharaj road was there since the early 70's but I have never had the chance to eat there (does it still exist?)

Nisargh, Mahesh lunch home and Trishna are very expensive though the fish quality is good. My experience with Rahul is that one gets good fish only on Sat/Sun. Coconut Groove is good but I prefer fish preparations the Malwani style which it does not serve.

My choice today is Harsh for good quality fish at reasonabe rates with the flavor of Malwan.

What do you think?

If Ambience does not matter then try Malvan Kalvan near Peru Gate in the lane opp. tilak smarak mandir off tilak road. Value for money Malavani (konkani) food. This place is Poree Poore Kholhapur's branch.

Recently had some good experience in hotel Malwani Naka on Kumthekar Road. Its near new sweet home on Sharmili Chowk. I think in the current lot, this seems to be a good choice for tasty seafood (esp the malwani variety) . It is a recently started restaurant (I received its pamphlet in the newspaper once).

The prices too are pretty reasonable especially for sea food in this season....definitely worth a try.
