Good South Indian Snacks Restaurants (my favorites are listed below. If you like them, please vote them, instead of adding a new answer. You can add your comments as well.). Note these are primarily snacks places (Idli, Dosa, Uttappam, etc.).

I am sure everyone is aware of the perennial favorite - Vaishali, but looking for less well-known favorites.

Absolutely. I find their idlis and soft dosas better than any I've tasted in Pune

Vaishali, FC Road.

The all-time favorite across 3 generations of Punekars! Here are my thoughts about this restaurant: http://aparanjape.wordpress.com/2008/10/07/restaurant-review-vaishali-written-in-1994/

I don't particularly like the idlis/dosas at Wadeshwar. I go there for the appes, thalipith, and other items that you would not normally find in an udipi restaurant.

Rasta peth is also popularly known as Mini south India.

Best quality and cheapest south Indian snacks like idli, dosa(different varities), medhu wada and south India lunch & dinner can be explored.

The popular landmark to ask for can be KEM hospital.

Mankar dosa in the Adinath Shopping Centre, Near City Pride, Pune-Satara Road is a good place for dosas. The chutney they serve is just awesome. There's also a hawker selling idlis outside Rana Pratap Udyan, Bajirao Road. I have never actually eaten the idlis there, but I've heard that they are pretty good.
