Good responses to the questions on best 'Misal' in Pune. Would like similar feedback on 'Bhel'. There are lot of old favorites in Central Areas of Pune (City, Deccan Gymkhana Area, etc.). Would be interesting to see what people think!

Sangli Bhel and Natraj Bhel at the 2-wheeler Z-bridge turn on JM road (near McDonalds). Otherwise, most of the bhels in Pune are failry routine affairs - no special "zing". |

+1 for Kalyan Bhel. Also try Kalpana Bhel on Tilak Road - this is the thirdy generation of Bhelwalas. If I am not mistaken this guy has a B.Sc. Navratna Bhel and Pushkarni Bhel near Vishrambagwada are good too. |

I have had some good bhel at Sambhaji Park! There are quite a few shops there and you can ask them to tailor the bhel to your taste. This is not for the people who want to sit down in a proper restaurant and eat! Purely from the thela-wala... :) |
