For a new car purchase, what dealer would you recommend and why? Any brand of car will do, bonus brownie points if you can talk about stellar service you received, a great offer on your purchase and after sales.

Santosh - Agree with Navin's observation below. Though I am wondering why would you buy a car purely based on the dealer?? Given a choice, I would pick a great car model/lousy dealer combination anyday, vs. a lousy car/great dealer combination :-)

good point, I am curious if it is possible to get the great car + great dealer combination!

Since I am in the market for a car right now, the question and (hopefully) answers to this question will be timely and pertinent for me. Here are my findings so far.

Firstly, +1 for DSK Toyota. Professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I have a toyota for many years now.

The following opinions are regarding the pre-sales process.

  • Skoda dealers - Enthusiastic, courteous, knowledgeable in the pre-sales process.Prompt test drives.
  • Ford (I've tried Talera Ford): Sucks in pre-sales. No follow through, no test drives. Does not seem interested in selling.
  • Kothari (Hyundai and Maruti): Promises test drives, does not deliver. Similar to Ford.
  • Sanjay Hyundai: Seems eager and while not fully knowledgeable staff, does good follow-through.
  • Nissan: Good follow-through, prompt test drives.
