What is the best place for authentic Maharashtrian Cuisine ? |
Shabri on FC Rd is great. Recommended for international visitors. Others - Shreyas, Apte Road Krishna Dining Hall, Law College Road |
Mathura - JM Road Shabri - off FC Road and a relatively less known place - Manohar Mangal Karyalay (near Mehendale Garage). Fixed menu, varies every day. [update after additional requirement of "hygiene" and "international"] Shabri it is then. One more: Potoba, ground floor of Joshi Miniature Railway Museum http://www.minirailways.com

Go to the top of Sinhagad (the fort at the end of Sinhagad Road) some morning, and then eat the jhunka-bhakar, bharit, and other stuff they give up there. Scores low on hygiene, (probably), but very high on authentic, and "experience". The more adventurous foreigners will definitely love it (and I know that such a species does exist)... |

If you do not mind going out of town, there is a place near Shivapur. Kailas - It is on the left side when coming from Satara to Pune He has fixed menu, but 100% authentic stuff. agaig, hygeine could be an issue |
They recently showed Poona Lunch Home, I think Tilak Rd, on NDTV. The one in which Vinod Dua comes. I never been there. |
Girija - on Tilak road or Karve road. God for Jhunka bhakri, matki bhakri etc. Maybe low on hygeine but 100% authentic. |

If you want to take foreigners along with you, Shreyas on Apte Road is probably your best bet |
Shreyas on Apte Road.. scores high on hygiene and service. |

I want to introduce the local flavour to couple of foreigners. So a big plus if you could rate it on authenticity, quality and hygiene too. Thanks
