Pay: At least until a few years ago Symantec software was one of the best as far as pay was concerned. Not entirely sure of the situation now, but I have no reason to believe that the situation has changed.

Area of work: As far as this is concerned, I believe going with a startup, or a small company (less than 50 people), is the best. That way, you get lots of responsibility, and if you're willing to take the initiative, you'll end up learning all kinds of things. (Just make sure you work for an outfit that is run professionally. There are a few companies run by complete psychopaths, who make life hell for the employees.)

Infrastructure: I guess one of the big ones, Infosys/Wipro is probably good in this respect.

Work from home option: The best option here, especially if you have 10+ years of experience, is to get a job with a US company where you are the only employee in Pune. I know a few people who are doing this, and are quite happy.

Creche within campus: Good question. Maybe you should list this as an independent question. I'm sure lots of people will be interested in knowing which Pune companies have a creche within their premises.

Pride of association: Again, I'll go with a startup here. The pride that I've seen in the eyes of employees of small but good startups is not to be found in anybody from a larger company.

Symantec is one of worst companies of todays times. It is going to break soon. Symantec does not pay well any more.
