What we need to ask is how does corruption creep into the various levels and offices of our system? And the answer is simple, from us. We as individuals are responsible for indirectly encouraging corruption. You mentioned traffic police, lets flow with this example.Maybe you've had a bad experience with the traffic police and this platform is suitable to vent out your anger on them, it could be so but not necessary. To save our pockets we bribe them with a sum of Rs 50 or 100 and release us. And if the police is at anytime wrong, action can be taken on them. Know your rules, regulations and most important of all rights. Also understand this, here is an individual trying to do his job but instead of being appreciated all he gets is curses and arguments from uncooperative citizens and at times these fellow citizens consider themselves to be above the law instead of trying to understand if he did actually break any law. And need i say anything about influential or rich citizens?? So in short, its us who can make the ultimate change in the society. We can just start with giving a simple smile and appreciating peoples work and be humble in our approach. And if you find anything related to corruption, point it out! |
