To be frank, we are not planning on doing any development ourselves on ForPune.com software. Soon, we're going to migrate it to OSQA, and whatever facilities it provides, we will provide.

(If there are any django-python hackers who would like to volunteer their time to add features to ForPune, we would love to hear from them.)

I do not feel that a Chat feature is relevant to the nature of this site. ForPune is meant to be a collaborative site where people are answering pubic queries of others. If such queries were to be resolved via a chat, which by nature is private, how will others benefit from that knowledge?

Its not necessary that chat has to be private... Its just that sometimes we need the answers at the moment rather than after few weeks or even months... If a member is online and he knows the answer, he can answer the enquirer then and there itself. Later, he can post it to the website for others too... It was just a thought that came to my mind... There is nothing to discuss here, I suppose.
