My existing driving licence (in old manual large paper format) issued from UP is nearing renewal. What is the procedure here at Pune to renew my DL. Can some one provide step by step instructions on doing so. Also is it feasable to do it yourself, or is it advisable to engage some agent? If an agent is advised, can someone suggest a reliable agent? |

I'd suggest abandoning that license and getting a fresh one from the Pune RTO. The reason is, if you want to renew it, you'll need an NOC from the original RTO in Uttar Pradesh. I can't imagine that that'll be straightforward! I was in a similar situation last year, and I chose to just get a fresh license. The drawback of course is that you have to go through the entire process of first getting a learner's permit, giving a test, etc. But it wasn't too painful overall. I did use an agent on the first visit (for the learner's permit), but I wouldn't recommend him to you. |
