What are good places to get breakfast in Pune? Something that opens up early (7ish / 8ish) and has a decent fare with reasonable prices. Someplace where you could catch up with friends / business associates and have a nice meeting without being disturbed. I am aware of places like Vaishali, Vohuman, Coffee House. Any other suggestions with pros and cons? Thanks! |

While you have mentioned, Vaishali, I will still add it here for folks to vote. Its my personal favorite for a South Indian Breakfast. It opens before 7am. +1 for Vaishali

Vohuman Cafe next to Jehangir the bestest cheese omlette and bun maska. Niranjan on FC Rd for their excellent poha and slightly offbeat location If you prefer a long drive on a Sunday morning breakfast at Green Resorts near Tamhini ahead of Mulshi dam is another good place. Vohuman is an excellent place. Did not know about Green Resorts. Sounds like a nice picnicy place to catch up on a Sunday morning probably. Thanks for the tip!

Had been to Green resort. Its pure veg (+1 for me) and the breakfast was good. Not the best but better for that place after a drive.

These are place that serve great breakfast food. Not sure of exactly when they open, though:
at the low end of the spectrum, I love Idlicious which is very simple, almost home cooked, South Indian food. It has two locations, one at Aundh, in the same lane as Kotbagi Hospital (near Shiv Sagar), and another at Baner Road, in Suyash Shroff, on the lane that leads to PanCard Clubs, near Balewadi Phata. I have observed that Idlicious and indeed most other places in the Aundh/Baner area don't open before 9am.

Most 4 and 5 Star Hotels will carry a good breakfast buffet spread. Prices range in the Rs 250 - Rs 500 range. I like Deccan Rendezvous personally (apprx Rs. 300 for the buffet.). Seasons Hotel in Aundh also has a good buffet at apprx Rs. 300. Both open early around 7am. Good business breakfast meetings.

Yes. Forgot about German Bakery :) Nice place to grab a bite - but parking can be a big issue there!

Tilak (off Tilak Road) serves good 'breakfast' dishes (which serve the real purpose of break-fast). Very much affordable and always crowded (some college/school/tuition students). Specialties are sabudana khichadi, bread patees, and of course wada paav. However; they don't believe in table-culture; you have to stand on the street to eat. (Also, it is a favorite place for bike-pickers, sorry, traffic department!!) Exact location is - near Chanakya Mandal, behind Airtel/Samsung/Sony showrooms |

Hotel Naivedyam (Mitramandal Chowk) opens very early and serves good breakfast dishes, from toast butter to idlis. It's a convenient location for people from Satara Road, Sadashiv Peth, Parvati, Sahakarnagar, etc. Nice place catch up with friends, too. Not to mention, very much affordable. |

Hotel Orbett & Coronet on Apte Road have decent breakfast buffets. About Rs.175 - 250 Cafe Goodluck at Goodluck Chowk has good old Irani - Bun Maska kind of bfast. Reasonably priced. |
