Could anyone outline the procedure of obtaining a Birth Certificate from PMC? Which office one needs to go to and what are the steps/fees involved? Update: (In the light of the 'accepted answer' below) Turns out, not everyone needs to go to the Kasba Peth ward office. You need to find out the ward office for your area. |

I think you would a slip from the hospital where the baby was born and then you would have to go to Kasba Peth, Kumbharwada, Mangalwar Peth, Kasba Peth, Pune, Maharashtra, India Search for "Pune Ward office" in google maps, you will find it. If not its the green building on the left after you cross the bridge. They open at 10:00 am I think. Then there will be a queue, you will have to fill a form from the peon there and give it to one of the counters. They will give you a receipt, after 10 days you can go back, this time only after 4:00 pm then you can get it. I think its Rs 15 for the first copy and 10 rs for a copy after that. I remember the details, because i had a tough time finding it. Good luck, Arun Thanks Arun -- this is indeed helpful. I tried upvoting the answer but could not because I'm below poverty line in reputation right now.
