Recently was reading in the newspaper that UID work has started in Pune. Where and whom can one contact for getting the UID card? |

You may find flex boards in your area displaying information about local UID processing centers(Of course, along with local corporator's photo). These centers are not ward specific. So you can go to any center irrespective of your residential address. These centers open at 10-10.30 am and process about 100-150 forms per day. Currently, at all these centers, people start queue at 5-6am. As far as I know, current deadline to apply for UID card is 31 March 2012 (& it may extend). So I would suggest to wait for some time. Not a very efficient way to handle it. I'm trying to get this info via contact info from http://uidai.gov.in/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=169&Itemid=111, but I'm not much hopeful :(

It should have been widely publicized in the media, but unfortunately it is not so. The information then should be found on the district collectorate site at http://pune.nic.in/. Unfortunately this site is not working at this time. Maybe we can try and come back later to see if its up again, and then find the info there. EDIT: from pmcmco@gmail.com pmcmco@gmail.com Sir, In this regard, you will have to talk to Mr. Praveen Ashtikar, Deputy Commissioner (Special), PMC, on his cell Number 09689931280. Yours Municipal Commissioner's Office, I checked the site after it was up and unfortunately I did not find any information even as it should have the required details there!
