What are some good place for Rajasthani food near to Aundh. I know Choki-Dhani, but that is too far from Aundh. |

There's a small place called "Marwar" in Baner (near Adidas showroom, opposite Cafe Coffee Day) that sells Rajasthani (and Marwari) food. Things like Pyaaj Kachori, Kanji Wada, Gatte ki Sabji, Daal Baati, Churma etc. They also serve full thalis during dinner and lunch times I think. Its a small place visited mostly by students and bachelors - so don't expect things to be neat and tidy. Taste wise they are good though - things are fresh mostly in the morning and evenings. They also have a branch on FC Road in Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk. http://pune.burrp.com/listing/marwar_baner-road_pune_restaurants/1311361178 Sampled the food at FC Road Marwar yesterday. It's better than the food in their Baner outlet.

A place not exactly close to Aundh (but closer than Choki-Dhani) is 'Panchavti Gaurav' on Bhandarkar Road (near Deccan Gymkhana), apprx 7km from Aundh. They have a Rajasthani Thali.

If you're willing to go all the way up to Deccan, then RutuGandh is the place to go to. It's at the beginning of Z-bridge. You mean Sukanta, the thali place, right? Rutugandh used to be a good place to have Gujarati/Rajasthani food, but it closed 4-5 years back.

they serve dal-bati at Jalebi junction opp food bazaar in baner. does not exactly have the best rajasthani taste, but if you want to have dalbati with churma and gatte ki sabji very badly, kinda missing the food at home.you can try it. they also serve good paranthas and sweet dishes like jalebi (ofcourse, it's named jalebi junction after all). |
