What are the parking facilities available at Pune Airport and what are the charges for the same ? Is it safe to leave the car at the airport for a day ? Need to have a day trip starting at 5:00 AM and ending at 11:30 pm.

Thanks for the answers below. Here's what I experienced. The full day parking is to be done at parking zone 2 (which is a little further away after the airport exit, across the road). There is enough space available, and it was being heavily used. The charges are Rs 200 for the full day parking. the board mentioned the charges to be Rs 40/- per hour. The regular pay & park at the airport is Rs 60 per hour. – Heytal Jan 24 at 17:10

I parked at Pune Airport car park recently for a day..flew out at 6 am in morning and returned at 11 pm...they charged me Rs 300/- for the day's parking..no particular zone for parking...entrance is right in front of the arrivals..to be safe I parked very close to where the payment booth and attendant were situated..no problems at all..great to get out of the arrivals and get in the car and home in 45 min (from landing)..

I had picked up someone early in the morning some time back from the Airport.
There is a designated parking space -- though, no one discussed pay-n-park with me at that time.
I think its fenced and you could leave your car around for the day (maybe not the night?).

Yet, lets check for some more experience...

Some other references,

While the space constraint for passenger movement has been taken care of to a large extent by the two new terminals, the airport continues to face the problem of limited parking space.

Initially, the parking capacity was for just 150 vehicles. After AAI’s request, the IAF had provided about five acres of land for extra parking space.

Construction work for the same is currently in progress. Now, the AAI has requested for some more space for parking of the aircrafts. [too...!]

The parking space has been created just opposite the main gate of the airport. The eastern wing of the parking has already been thrown open for taxis, autorickshaws and pick-up vehicles of the airliners. At present, four-wheelers and two wheelers can enter the airport premises and there is a parking facility for them within the premises.

“In addition to the parking facility located within the gates of the airport complex, we have created a space just across the road for four wheelers. While the eastern wing of this parking facility has already come into operation, the other side is yet to be opened for private vehicles. It would be done once our traffic policy is finalised. It would take at least two weeks to be approved,” Captain Deepak Shastri, Director of the Airport told The Indian Express.

It is a pay-n-park. Don't know about the timings though. – Navin Kabra Jan 8 at 7:27
Since its the airport parking, I think timings should not be a problem. Also, since its day time -- i would expect lower risks. – nik Jan 8 at 7:32

I recall that pay and park at the pune airport is expensive, 40 bucks for an hour or so. (please double check this figure). Timing is not an issue.

The rates have changed now. It is Rs.60 for premium parking which essentially means parking inside the airport gates / walls / boundaries. Rs. 40 for outside parking – Ramya Jan 8 at 8:42

@Heytal: I have done that in the past -- i.e., left my car in the airport parking lot, from morning till a late-evening (~11pm) return flight.

@Himanshu: I don't recall it being expensive... less than 100 Rs. for the whole day. But this was a few years ago...

Initially the parking charges within the Pune airport were Rs.25 and now it is Rs.60. Don't remember the exact no. of hours allowed. In Mumbai for example, they charge Rs.60 for 4 hours in the non-premium parking and Rs.100 for 4 hours in the premium parking. Given that, it is possible that a full day may come to 150-200 odd assuming that its Rs.60/- for 4 hrs. There is a big parking space outside that has been built. But nobody parks there. So its most likely non-functional yet. So probably no security either. – Subhojit Roy Jan 8 at 8:50
