In Pune, the basundi is called rabdi and "masala milk" is called basundi :-).

Where in Pune can I get thick rabdi with lachchhas? Like the one you get in the northern or central parts of India. I've sampled good rabdi in Sayaji, Le Meridien or Blue Diamond, but never saw anyone selling anything like that in shops.

I'll give +1 to this, although their rabdi does not have lachchhas. But it's tasty and much thicker than other "rabdis" in Pune. Their Kalakand is also good - in it's true semi-solid form. Their lassi also tasted nice, with malai/rabdi on top in true UP/MP style.

I think you should try the Maan Dairy shop besides the the new Mahindra Mom&Me shop (or across Vishi's place) on the 'DP' road connecting Parihar Chowk and Bremen circle.

Just thinking of Mann dairy gives me shivers ;-). Paaji there gives you such priceless one-liners. Their lassi is decent, but their rabdi is still technically basundi.

@Ankur, yep, the large man at the counter is really fascinating :-)
