Its always scary to visit the dentist esp. when its for extraction. If anyone has recommendation that would be great.

I have had a good experience with Dr Tushar Waknis. He did my extraction at Dr Milind Desai's clinic on FC Road (Lalit Mahal Chowk).

Dr Vaze in Ideal Colony Paud Road is also supposed to be good.

The Dentist I like (Dr. Abhijit Kale) also recommends Dr. Kulkarni as an oral surgeon. (Dr. Kale doesn't do oral surgery himself)

Phone number for Dr. Kulkarni: +91 20 2566 0672

Dr. Kiran Gadre, who consults at Ruby Hall, and has a clinic on Tilak Road: +91 20 2433 3552, +91 20 2433 8706. (This is another recommendation from Dr. Abhijit Kale, whom I recommend in the Good Dentists In Aundh question

Not sure how many folks know that extracting a wisdom tooth is a MD's job. Its like heart surgery for the tooth :) Had two wisdom teeth removed from Dr Tushar Waknis ( chinchwad ) and Dr Dixit ( Next to Alka Theater)..both great job. While it pained a bit afterward ( it will always pain a bit)..the overall surgery was a walk in the park.

Dr. Vaze (Paud Road, Vaze Clinic), is good for wisdom tooth extraction. However, Vaze Clinic in general is not a great place -- the junior doctors there treat you for other conditions, and they are not that good.

I had my wisdom tooth extracted from Dr. Waze. Nothing to complain. I had bad experience with the root canal treatment there.

I had a wisdom tooth extracted by Dr Garde at Dr Thukral's clinic (opposite Poona Club) this morning and was surprised by how smoothly and painlessly it went off. I've had a wisdom tooth extracted before by another doctor at another clinic and it was a torturous experience. I would strongly recommend Dr Garde. Also Thukral's clinic has a fancy X-ray machine that captures an image of the whole mouth - so they can tell if your other wisdom teeth are growing weirdly even if they haven't yet broken out of the gum and appeared in the mouth.
