Is there a recognized Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre in Pune or does one still have to go over to Mumbai for the vaccination?

Found some listings on justdial and I will be calling them up tomorrow. However these look like chemists who stock the vaccine but would not be in a position to issue the necessary certificate for travel to Africa (Kenya).

Had called up Sasoon hospital but they pointed to Mumbai.

Thanks, Harshad

The whole system is really pathetic. The other place to get it done is at the seafarer's centre (MMD) Nav Bhavan in ballard estate on R Kamani marg. The scene there is that people start coming midnight onwards and write their names on a piece of paper. the first 80 make it to the list. You get your token number the same day and then get vaccinated the next day. Very sorry state of affairs!

hello patient.. i am unaware what disturbed u so much after visiting this shradha hospital. people have good views of this hospital and its only you who have written some wrong opinion about him. writing your own opinion is fine but mght be somewhere some patient needs him desperately and ur review mght disturb them. and when u went to the doctor u have written a good review saying him to a good feedback to impress him to get ur work done. if he suggested to u to take some medicnes for skin then u should follow him and if not u cud have rejected it and gone to bombay airport.. wats the point in blaming him after using him for all ur purpose. if money is more imp. to you than human kind its better to curse urself rather than others. god bless u for ur deeds. thanks.

my advice to people sometimes rude words hurt a lot, dont go upon words meet and decide ur ownself wats good and wats bad. one rotten egg cannot disturb the whole basket of fresh eggs.. thanks.

Went to the said hospital in Pune but as certificate was not on the Yellow WHO format I decided not to take the vaccination there as I dont want to risk the quarantine upon return. I felt the place was shabby (but that was before I went to mumbai airport...).

Instead opted to go to Mumbai and the process was pretty smooth: Got my name registered around 12pm at the airport vaccination center (registration between 10am and 1pm). 2.30pm returned and was asked to stand in line. On that day there were just 30ppl, so it didnt take long - maybe we were lucky to get in. if you miss the registration period, then you might have to come back the next day or try paying a "surcharge".

Went into the shed, showed passport and ticket, paid 300INR and got the shot.

I am pretty sure this 3rd world facility wouldnt stand any WHO approval if visited but at least they give you the shot and the certificate you need to return to India.

In case you are sensitive about: - dirt - vaccination from an open bottle - Syringes being preloaded and lined up on the table with the needle uncovered - the same swap used for 8-10 ppl to "sterilize" the injection site - the doctor not wearing a glove and closing the wound with his thumb without sterilizing his hands after each patient, then you might better stopover in a more medically advanced country to get your vaccination.

I am surprised how they can make such a fuss about the yellow fever vaccination and not follow even most basic health & sanitation standards. But as they are the only place where you get the certificate, they have us by the balls...

Its better to go and have the vaccine at Ballard Estate Mumbai. As need, I searched for hospitals in Pune, had been to Sasoon, BJ Medical. Sasoon had been there in Ward 47 in OPD. They asked me to get the Vaccine from Apolo Clinic on JM Road or from Niramay Hospital Chinchwad. The fees for Vaccine was called as Rs. 3000/-. Sasoon hospital said that they will give the signing and stamp on the certificate that comes with the Vaccine. But was not sure weather its in the Yellow format as needed. Shradha Hospital, no experience, but reviews and critics are against it as a fraud. Well better take it from the authorized stations in Mumbai.

But the Place in Ballard Estate was good enough. May be as in Luck, I had been there at 11.00 am weekdays. Fortunately I could get into first 100 peoples. The people at Ballard Estate are very kind, only thing is you should be in first 100 there with 3 x 100 Rs. notes and valid passport. Even ticket is not needed there. Crowd even is ok. I presume the early visit at the Ballard Estate is preferred to get into first 100. But there needs to be even no. If you are in rank 93 you wont get the vaccine unless you have the 94th member.

Information: Seamen Medical Nav Bhavan Bldg., Ballard Estate, Ramji Kamani Marg Mumbai - 400 038, Tel : 22612256 Time : 11.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. Charges : Rs.300/- Days : Monday to Friday (Closed on all Public Holidays)

sudha rani..

some people have wrong concept about dr. shah.

i personally visited this hospital for yellow fever vaccination by taking appointment.

i do accept that the place is small for a hospital but the doctor is quite clear and everything is on paper. after reading about on google i was a bit confused and worried and i thought to visit and clear myself the doubt.

but to share my experience the doctor is really good and he explained me in detail about yellow fever vaccination. he also explained about all the charges in detail with typed report. he inquired about all my passport details and only after my official consent he vaccinated me. i dont thnk he is doing anything wrong.

every person has its own opinion, u should check the services with urself. i am happy as i got my work done sooner and faster without troubling my health. i say thanx to him for the certification he provided to me with proper understanding.

I had called up Dr. Ritesh shah (Shraddha Clinic) PUNE AUNDH and inquired abt the charges for yellow fever vaccine. I was told 3500 Rs.

When i went to him, he explained the procedure and said that he will check, bp, sugar, hiv.. but he never mentioned that he would be charging extra for the same. these procedures are not required for normal people.

he mad a final bill of 5600.. where in he charged 500rs for consultation the same vaccine is available at aditya birla for 2000 rs only... with all other charges!!

Ritesh shah cheats the IT crowd.. he goves good comments to himself on just dial.. If there are negative comments, he will get the justdial profile deleted and create a new one with his comments...

The doctor at Shradha Hospital, Pune Mr Ritesh Shah is by far the biggest cheat and should be banned by one and all. Suspect if he really has a genuine doctors degree. It would be cheaper to fly to Mumbai from Pune for the Vaccine and still save fair amount of money than taking the vaccine from Shradha Clinic.
